8. Change your
View, not World
Once a king named
Chandravahan ruled over an affluent country. One day, he went to hunt animals
in some remote area. When he returned back from the trip, he felt too exhausted
to move anymore. His felt were sore after a long trip on the rough and graveled
road of distant areas. It was his first trip on road which pained him a lot, so
he gave the order to cover the road of his entire country with leather.
Definitely, this was a very expensive task to cover the road with leather in
which the cow's skin was needed. Then one of his wise servants dared to tell
the king, “Why do you have to spend that unnecessary amount of money? Why don't
you just cut a little piece of leather to cover your feet?” The king was
astounded on this suggestion but later he agreed and decided to make slipper of
leather.
Moral: To
make this world a happy place to live in, you had better change yourself, your
heart, and not the world.
