81. Blessing or
Curse
Once a great saint with
his seven disciples visited a village. The denizens of that village gave a warm
welcome with profound respect and the villagers took great care of them. After
a few days when the saint was departing he said, “I wish your village would
destroy soon and all villagers would be separated.” This statement made all the
disciples astonished. Again the saint arrived at the other village where they
had been disgustingly behaved by the villagers. Then the saint said, “May your
village flourish and all people live together forever!”
Such type of blessing led
the disciples to ask the reason. Then the saint replied, “If the people of good
humanity scatter, they will spread morality and peace but evil people should
not be scattered in all over the world; otherwise, they will spread only
evil."
Moral: Good people efface
evil.
