63. Religion or
Wealth
Once a saint lived in a
distant isolated hut. Yet, people went to him to get panacea for their
problems. One day, an enormously wealthy man decided to go there and inquire
about religion in the world. He asked, “Life can't run without money, so wealth
should be given more priority than religion.” Then the man spent a whole day
with the saint. When darkness fell, the saint lit a lamp, but its light
disturbed the man to take a sound sleep. The man asked, “For how long will it
light up?” The saint replied, “Till there is darkness.” Lastly, the saint
added, “Light covers darkness, in the same way religion triumphs over sin.”
