100. The
Strange Sacrifice
Once a king was
ordered to construct a splendid temple within a week. So all sculptors
assiduously worked hard but they got frustrated because in spite of working
hard they were unable to complete the temple. Therefore, the king announced
that if the temple would not be completed in an appropriate time then all
sculptors would be killed. The sculptors got frightened because they didn't
have time. One day, a twelve-year son of a sculptor, who was learning
sculpture, also arrived at the working place of his father. There, he asked the
permission of building the temple. First of all, they mocked on him but later
agreed. Finally, the temple completed on the last day. But they were happy and
sad also because they were frightened of the king because if it was known that
a little boy had completed the temple in place of the sculptors, he would kill
all the sculptors. Knowing this, the little boy decided to leave the village
forever in order to save them.
