151. The
Indomitable Will
Jhon Roebling, a
valiant and creative engineer, was determined to build a spectacular bridge
connecting New York with the long island. He was being aided by his son,
Washington, who did never let him feel daunted. The construction being very
difficult to do attracted a very few workers to perform the task. However, the
project was resumed and went in the right direction for a few months. But soon,
a tragic accident on the site took place that had snatched the life of Jhon
Roebling and left Washington to die. After a few months, recovery he was again
embued with a strong feeling to complete his dad's dream. That time all he
could do was to move one finger and he decided to make the best of it. By
moving this, he slowly developed a code of communication with his wife that further
helped him give instructions to the engineers. A great hard work of 13 years
brought the colours of happiness as BROOKLYNE BRIDGE, that stood as glory and
triumph of father and son, made them worldwide famous.
