150. The
Wife
Once there was a
man who used to beat his wife mercilessly, but unfortunately she succumbed to
his beating though he had not intended to kill her. When she died, he
apprehensively came out of his house and met an acquaintance to whom he posed
his problem. His friend advised him to invite a young man to his house, behead
him and put the head next to the wife's corpse. Then the wife's relatives could
be explained that he slew them acrimoniously as they were seen together on bed.
The man did the same and beheaded a young man in his house and told a
fictitious story to his wife's relatives. The advisor had a son who hadn't
reached home that day. Not finding him he got baffled. Then he came to the
house of the one whom he had offered evil advice and asked him if he carried
out the plan suggested by him. He astonished to see his own son as the beheaded
young man.
