36. Lacy and the Moon #Inspirational Moral Stories
"Time to go to bed, Lacy," said her mother one
night. "Mommy, how come you and I don't see the full moon every
night?" she asked. Her mother said, "You know, Lacy, the sun is very
proud of himself. But when he sees the moon glowing softly at night, he gets
jealous. Because poets love the moon. They do love the sun, but they love the
moon more. So every night, the sun cuts the moon, little by little, until
nothing is left of the moon. That is why some nights are dark. But the moon is
a determined fellow. He is silent for a while but then he grows again, little
by little, until he is as huge and round as it is tonight!" Lacy's mother
turned to look at her, but she was already in bed, fast asleep. "Good
night," she said and draped the sheets over her.
Moral of the
Story: The moral of the story is that the moon
waxes and wanes in a continuous cycle, just like life has its ups and downs,
and it's important to appreciate both the bright and dark moments.
