39. The House where no one Lived #Inspirational Moral Stories
Marjorie and her friends were playing near the pond. Beside
it stood the huge house where no one lived. Its doors were covered with
creepers. "There is no one in the house. Why is everyone scared of
it?" asked Marjorie. "I don't know. But I am not going in
there," replied Pauline. "Let's go there. Don't be scared," urged
Marjorie. So all of them entered the huge gates. They creaked because no one
had been there in for a long, long time. They tiptoed through the garden, which
was full of hedges and creepers. The girls pushed open the huge doors and
listened for a sound. Nothing. Pauline said, "Let's leave before it's
dark." Just then, there was a loud bang and all the girls ran away,
screaming, except Marjorie. She laughed until her stomach hurt. Then she waved
the cracker at her friends and shouted, "Come back! There's nothing to be
scared of!"
