61. Selkies on the Beach #Inspirational Moral Stories
Luna's grandfather was fond of her and Mike, her brother.
He often took them fishing. While they threw in the fishing lines and waited
for the catch to bite the bait, he would tell them the stories of faraway lands
and magical creatures, such as mermaids, magical serpents and sprites.
"Such beings are very shy. That's why they are rarely seen by humans,"
he would say. One evening, Luna and Mike were making sand castles when they saw
two women sitting on a rock by the seashore. They were beautiful and seemed to
be wearing sealskins. "Let's go and look closer," Mike said. Luna and
Mike sneaked up to the rock. But the women sensed that they were near and dived
back into the sea. Luna and Mike ran home and told their grandfather what they
had seen. "You saw Selkies! They are seals who can change into human form whenever
they please," he replied.
