72. A Little-Bit of Silver #Inspirational Moral Stories
Tillie was a poor girl. Once, she won a lottery and became
a millionaire overnight. Instead of being thankful and kind, she became miserly
and proud. Her mother did not like this. One morning, mother pointed towards
the mirror and asked, "What do you see, Tillie?" She said, "I
see myself, mother." Then mother pointed towards the window and asked, "What
do you see now?" "People hurrying to work," said Tillie.
"The mirror and the window are made of glass. Yet, in the mirror, you can see
only yourself. Have you wondered why?" asked her mother. "That's
because the mirror has a silver coating," said Tillie. Tillie's mother
sighed and said, "When a little silver is added to our life, we forget who
we used to be. We forget others around us and look only at ourselves, isn't
it?" Tillie realised that money had made her a proud woman. She became
humble once again.
Moral of the Story: The story teaches us the importance of humility and kindness,
even in the face of wealth and success.
