75. The Pair of Spectacles #Inspirational Moral Stories
Octavia had difficulty doing her homework. "Mother, I
can't read anything clearly," she said. Her mother-took her to an
optician, who performed a routine check-up for her eyes and gave her a pair of
spectacles to wear. "Eat lots of green vegetables and carrots," he
advised. Octavia did not like the spectacles. She was embarrassed to wear them
to school. So, she would wear them every morning and once her mother had
dropped her at school, she took them off. Before her mother came to pick her
up, Octavia would wear her spectacles again. But one day, her mother saw this
and scolded her. The next day, she made sure Octavia wore her spectacles in the
class. That day, one of the girls in the class came up to her and said, "You
look great. You should wear spectacles more often." Octavia was surprised
to hear this. She wore the spectacles every day.
