78. Vinnie Goes Shopping #Inspirational Moral Stories
Vinnie was a simpleton. People often took her for a ride
due to this quality of hers. One day, Vinnie was walking in the marketplace with
her husband. Just then, a man was passing by with a donkey. Vinnie said, "How
much does this donkey cost?" "Ten silver coins," said the man.
Vinnie said, "I have only five silver coins." The man started to walk
away. Vinnie's husband said, "Let him go. He was trying to fool you. Ten
silver coins for an old donkey!" But Vinnie wasn't convinced. She called after
the man and said, "Take five silver coins and give me the donkey. Instead
of the remaining five silver coins, I will give back your donkey. That's a
deal." Vinnie's husband was shocked. The man would have left with the
donkey and the money had Vinnie's husband not intervened. He never let her go
shopping alone.
