120. A Tortoise in the Garden #Inspirational Moral Stories
It was Ophelia's tenth birthday. Since she was fond of
animals, she asked her grandmother to buy her a pet. They went to a pet shop.
There were many animals up for sale. There were rabbits, hamsters, kittens and white
mice. But Ophelia did not want them. Her grandmother showed her some canaries.
But Ophelia did not want them either. "How about these puppies?" her
grandmother asked. "They are cute but I don't want them," replied
Ophelia. Then her grandmother showed her some goslings and asked, "How
about these, my dear?" Ophelia said, "They are nice, but they're not
what I am looking for." They went back home since Ophelia did not want any
of the pets in the shop. She was sad as her pet was nowhere to be found. A few
days later, when Ophelia was playing outdoors, a little tortoise wandered into
her garden. "Grandma, I've found my pet!" she exclaimed.
Moral of the Story: Sometimes, what you are looking for may come to you
unexpectedly. It's essential to be patient and open to different possibilities.
