139. Lily and the Rose #Inspirational Moral Stories
Lily was playing in the garden, while her mother was
watering the plants. She stood near her mother and looked at the roses,
daisies, dahlias and the tulips. Then she said, "Mummy, these flowers are
so beautiful." Her mother asked, "Which flower do you like the most?"
"I love roses. Mummy, how do roses bloom?" Her mother said,
"It's quite simple. Come; see for yourself." Her mother brought a
flower pot, a shovel and a pair of scissors. She said, "Dig up some mud with
the shovel and put it in the pot." When that was done, she asked Lily to cut
a rose stem and plant it in the pot. Lily planted the stem and watered it. Lily
watered her plant every day. Some weeks later, she saw a tiny bud. In a couple
of days, the bud blossomed into a beautiful rose. "Mummy, now I know how
roses bloom," she said.
