141. Matilda and the Moon #Inspirational Moral Stories
Matilda loved the moon. She gazed up at the sky every
night. She would often tell her mother, "I want to meet the moon."
Her mother would say, "The moon is very far off. How can you meet the
moon?" But her father would say, "Of course, dear. You can meet the
moon. But you will have to be a good girl. The moon meets children who study
well and go to bed on time." Matilda was eager to meet the moon. So she
obeyed her father. She did well in the class and had impeccable manners. She
also went to sleep on time every night. Finally, she met the moon. Matilda
said, "Mr. Moon, don't you feel cold up here?" The moon said,
"Yes. Whenever I feel cold, I cover myself with a huge cloud."
Matilda laughed hard at this. Then she woke up with a jolt and realised that
she had been dreaming!
