The Favourite Disciple - A Moral Story for Children
The Favourite Disciple
Welcome to the story of Sukrut, the favourite disciple of his Guru, where we learn that devotion and sincerity matter more than external actions. This story teaches us the essence of true spirituality.

Introduction

Sukrut was the favourite disciple of his Guru. The other disciples once confronted the Guru and asked him why Sukrut was his favourite. The Guru answered that instead of telling them, he would demonstrate the qualities of Sukrut which made him his favourite.

The Mango Test

The next day, the Guru gave a mango each to all his students. He told them to go to a place where nobody would be able to see them and eat their mango there. All the disciples left and came back after an hour or so.

Sukrut's Devotion

Only Sukrut did not return. All the disciples along with the Guru, waited for Sukrut. Finally, Sukrut came back late in the evening. The disciples were surprised to see that not just had the favourite student come back late, but he had also not eaten the mango. Now, the Guru would surely be angry with him!

The Explanation

The Guru asked Sukrut why he was late and why he hadn't eaten the mango. Sukrut replied and the other disciples understood why Sukrut was the Guru's favourite student.

🌟 Moral of the Story: True devotion comes from the heart, not from rituals or outward actions. 🌟
